Casonda Los Cedros is a boutique hotel in the heart of the Yucatan in the village of Espita (2.5 hours west of Cancun).You will be able to enjoy a traditional architecture through the renovation of an old colonial building but also a more contemporary architecture with the creation of eight rooms, an infinity pool and a restaurant nestled in a tropical garden.

We have booked the entire hotel for our guests to enjoy.

Wedding

We will hold the ceremony and reception at the hotel on Friday, January 17th at 5PM.

Reception will include a special 3 course dinner and wine pairing by Chef Jorge Ildefonso followed by local desserts and a wedding cake.

Activies

We have a few possible additional activities lined up for our time in Espita.

Guided tour of the village of Espita on foot with visits to local artisans. (About 2 hours) on Friday.

Brunch the day after the wedding on Saturday with typical cooks: preparation of a pib(tamales cooked underground), homemade meringues

Visit to Ek Balam archaeological site and Cenote X´canche (driver + guide + entrance) on Saturday

FAQ

When is the wedding?
  • The wedding ceremony will take place at 5pm on January 17th, 2025.
Where will the ceremony and reception be?
  • Casano Los Cedros Hotel, Espita, Yuc., Mexico
  • The ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception will all be at the hotel.
Is there a dress code?
  • The dress code for our wedding is formal.
  • The ceremony will be outdoors, cocktail hour and dinner will be in an indoor/outdoor area.
Weather
  • The average high in Espita in January is 83, and the average low 63. January is typically a drier month in regards to rainfall.
What is being covered?
  • We are covering your hotel accommodations, rehearsal dinner, wedding reception drinks & dinner, brunch day after, and transportation.
  • You will need to arrange for your own flights.
Getting to Espita
  • We will provide an “ideal” arrival time soon so that all can share the bus to the hotel
  • Wednesday January 15th at a time TBD in the early afternoon for the few that will arrive on Wednesday.
  • Thursday January 16th at a time TBD in the early afternoon for most guests.
  • We will also provide a shuttle for departures on Sunday, January 19th. Check out from the hotel and airbnb is at 11am and transportation to the airport will be soon after.
Accommodations
  • We booked the entire hotel Casona Los Cedros (8 rooms) for our guests. We have also booked Casa Moca, an airbnb just a couple minutes walk from the hotel for additional guests.
  • Room assignments will be in your invitations!
Menu/Food
  • The hotel Chef is working on preparing a menu for dinner after the ceremony - stay tuned!
  • There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel that will be open for you to enjoy for other meals.
  • We would love for everyone to join us for a welcome/rehearsal dinner at the hotel on Thursday, Jan. 16 if you are able.
Activities
  • We are planning an excursion day on Saturday the 18th to visit Chichen Itza - one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World” and visit a local cenote along with lunch for anyone who would like to join us.
